A centerpiece is an important, maybe the most important decoration for every holiday table. Mother’s Day is a special holiday for each family and we all want to make it amazing. So here are some ideas of centerpieces for Mother’s Day. If you want to make a traditional centerpiece, take the flowers you like. You can make the piece eatable – use fruit and vegetables, that’s not only beautiful but also tasty. Bright apples in combination with white flowers are amazing – just put them on sticks. A watering can with grapes on sticks and apricots looks awesome! Orange slices down in a big vase and tulips above are very original and great for any holiday. A cupcake stand with biscuits and flowers in tiny pots are cool! Rustic Materials + Modern Style = Sexy Matchstick Furniture

This suite of furniture from Tel Aviv design company Godspeed looks like matchsticks held together with string, but in a strikingly elegant way. According to the designers, this was the goal.

The collection, known appropriately as The Stick Collection, arose from a curiosity about the appropriateness of certain materials. Could “sticks” be used to make permanent and solid furnishings?

Constructed of something that looks like it came from someone’s back yard and held together with zip ties, the Stick Collection pieces look like they might simply tip over and fall apart if you are brave enough to sit on or balance your drink on one.

But despite their fragile appearances, these rustic-meets-modern furnishings have enough strength and more than enough style to deal with daily life.

Two Cuts Transform Old Wine Bottles Into 3 Useful Objects

If you are an eco-minded person, the joy of drinking wine is effectively cancelled out when you look at the pile of wasted bottles that are left over. Barcelona-based studio Lucirmás has come up with an innovative way to upcycle empty wine bottles with no waste.

The Pure-Bottle is a three-part set of objects made from a single wine bottle. With two strategic cuts, one bottle becomes a spoon, a lantern and a drinking glass.

The glass is sandblasted to remove any sharp edges, leaving surprisingly elegant objects that would be equally at home in a four-star restaurant or at your breakfast table.

Enterprising DIYers with the right equipment could easily replicate these objects at home. Glass cutting tools and fine-grit sandpaper, along with plenty of safety gear and the appropriate training with those tools, are all that is needed to make something useful and entirely wonderful out of your discarded wine bottles.

With tailgating season in full swing (and let’s be honest – for some people, that particular season is never over), our thoughts turn toward impromptu outdoor parties with friends. But for tailgaters who enjoy the finer things in life, the Woody mobile party trailer is the ultimate in weekend luxury.

Commissioned by Moore and Giles Leather and designed/built by Brad Ford, the beautiful one-of-a-kind creation has everything the upscale party-goer could want. The teardrop trailer has been outfitted in sleek leather, rich wood, oodles of style and a cocktail bar big enough to let you forget you’re partying outdoors.

Inside the trailer you’ll find a poker set just right for challenging your rich friends to some good old fashioned fun, along with a built-in Sony Blu-Ray player and Golden Ear speakers. The pull-out bar features space for storing up to 30 bottles as well as a tap for when only a keg will do. There’s no room to sleep in this camper, but that just gives you more time to throw elegant backyard soirees.

This posh bar on wheels is not merely an exercise in decadence, however. It was built to tour the USA and then be auctioned off for the benefit of DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids). The combination of the traditionally low-luxury pursuit of camping along with the upscale materials used in this project result in a remarkable piece of traveling craftsmanship that is truly unlike anything else.

All-in-One Adjustable Table Flips Up & Out, Lifts & Lowers

Fans of the Fletcher Capstan Table might not have the money (or space) to afford a full-sized dining table, and may find this more recent variant from DB Fletcher even more versatile.

It can be raised or lowered, and unlike its larger cousin the various leaves can be added or subtracted as desired, giving it versatility between sizing extremes.

A simple assisted hydraulic system sits inside the steel core, allowing for manual lifting and dropping of the table top, while a likewise-simple lock-and-release mechanism lets each modular extension operate independently.

“It was designed to address the need for a metamorphosing table for smaller dining areas, patios, balconies or yacht decks. It is made to an exacting marine specification, allowing permanent siting in an exposed position if needs be.”

Flatmate by German company Magazin is a cool sleek desk of only 5 inches deep, front to back. It’s hard to believe it but it’s fact! Flatmate has a floor area of just 0.09 m², it’s the smallest fully equipped bureau. If you open the top you’ll get a 16-inch-by-28-inch flat surface-big enough for a laptop, a mouse, and a keyboard.
